I'm creating a writing income roadmap for you...

How I started making money with writing.

Welcome back, my friend.

Have you ever thought about this? Why are so many people trying to be ‘consistent’ with their Twitter game?

• 80% think money will magically come to them when they hit 10K followers

• 10% are learning how to make a full-time income from Twitter

• 10% are executing with intention; they know exactly how they’ll make $

Which of these groups describes you best? If it’s not #3, let me help you save months of work, can I?

How I started making money

I started on Twitter back in November 2022. But for the next 2 months, I just posted quotes from Stoicism and Naval. I had no idea what I’m going to do with Twitter.

In December, I learned a lot more about the so-called “Money Twitter”. JK Molina, Dakota Robertson, and George Ten — all share amazing tips on making a business from your Twitter account.

In January, I decided to niche down and started learning about Twitter ghostwriting. I reached out to Taylin Simmonds and asked him to teach me how to do it. (of course, it was paid coaching).

Right off the bat, Taylin liked my style of writing (I wrote 1 thread per day in December to practice). He referred a couple of clients to me and I started making $$$.

It was great but I needed a way to start finding my own clients. And I didn’t want to do cold outreach. So I had to build a sales funnel to attract leads and convert them into clients.

My first try

One day, I was listening to a space hosted by the anonymous account “The Art of Life”. He talked about monetizing your audience through giveaways and newsletters.

It sounded like a perfect alternative to cold DMs that I wanted to avoid. So, I launched my first giveaway - Twitter Growth Guide - Level 1 - How to grow from 0 to 1,000 followers in 61 days.

I gave my followers tons of free value at first, and it was an instant success for my brand.

It didn’t bring me lots of followers, but that wasn’t the goal. The goal was to collect as many emails as I could to pitch my ghostwriting/consulting service to the clients.

I got several warm leads, and closed 2. I knew this was something I had to focus on now.

But then I got a lot more referrals and didn’t have enough time for it. I will now be focusing more on this way of acquiring clients.

I also want to help others to do the same, read on…

My simple monetization plan

• Niche down your Twitter account

• Post content around your niche, consistently

• Optimize your profile around 1 specific niche

• Network and connect with as many people as possible in the niche

• Build a lead magnet (like I did)

• Start pitching your services

It’s as simple as that. You just need patience and consistency.

I now want to help as many people as I can to go through the same roadmap. You don’t need to be a writer to do this.

See ya next time!
