Will you commit for the next 6 months to achieve this?
Hey there, my fellow Stoic!
Shall we start with the update on my 30-day challenge?
This will be the last week.
I can’t repeat enough how intention and systemized approach make progress 2X easier.
But more about it in a bit…
Results from last week:
• Learned some awesome ChatGPT prompting methods from Rob Lennon
(check out his acct on Twitter if you want to learn how to be among the first ones to make $$$ with A)
• Grew my Twitter account by 200+ followers
• Had a sales call with a client, he agreed to pay but still hasn’t — will follow up today
If you haven’t read my system from my post 3 weeks ago, go back and check it out.
(Feel free to steal it too!)
Now, about intention…
As you know, I'm always eager to share my experiences and the lessons I've learned along the way.
Today, I want to tell you about a game-changing realization I had six months ago that completely transformed my life.
Picture this: I was sitting on my couch, scrolling through social media, feeling bored.
That’s when I stumbled upon a YT video from Dan Koe about a one-person business. This got me hooked right away.
He talked about how writing on Twitter changed his life and brought him opportunities he couldn't imagine having just 3 years go.
This got me thinking. What if, instead of dabbling in various skills, I set a clear intention to master one and become an expert in it?
And so, I embarked on a six-month journey to learn writing, a skill I knew would be invaluable to my business.
| Epictetus said: "If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid."
Here's how harnessing the power of intention helped me learn a new skill and change my life in just six months:
Clarity and Focus
By setting a clear intention to master writing, I was able to focus all my energy and attention on this one skill.
No more dabbling or getting distracted by shiny new things.
This clarity and focus allowed me to make rapid progress in a short amount of time.
Deliberate Practice
With a specific goal in mind, I began to practice writing (on Twitter) deliberately.
I studied the best creators in the business, analyzed their techniques, and applied what I learned to my own work.
By consistently practicing with intention, I quickly honed my craft.
Accountability and Commitment
Setting a six-month deadline to master writing held me accountable and kept me committed.
I created a plan, broke it down into small, manageable tasks, and tracked my progress. (more about it later)
This sense of accountability pushed me to stay the course and persevere through any obstacles I encountered.
Networking and Mentorship
As I pursued my goal with intention, I connected with other creators on Twitter.
One of these connections led me to getting into Taylin Simmonds’ coaching program (which I’m still a part of)
Life Transformation
After six months of intentional learning and practice, I became a skilled writer, landed 4 clients and made my first $1 from the skill. All because I started with intention.
So, my friends, here's my challenge to you:
Pick a skill that you believe will change your life and set a clear intention to master it in the next six months.
Create a plan, break it down into actionable steps, and practice with focus and determination. Embrace Epictetus' wisdom and be content to be thought foolish and stupid as you learn.
As you do this, you'll find yourself making incredible progress and transforming your life, just as the Stoics of the past did through their pursuit of wisdom and self-improvement.
Until next time,
Your friend,
Abdu
